Sebastian is an analyst for the Global Risk Analysis team based in Bogota. Sebastian works as the lead analyst for Peru, Bolivia, Panama, and Suriname, assisting clients with consulting services in political, regulatory, and economic risk. Sebastian has experiencing working with clients in a variety of industries including air travel, mining, infrastructure, sports, and energy generation.

 Recent tasks that Sebastian has worked on include:

  • Assisting an air travel company in managing security risks related to their operations in Peru.
  • Analysing security, political, and regulatory risk for a client with interests in the port sector in Peru.
  • Providing a comprehensive political risk, security risk, and energy regulation assessment of Bolivia for an energy company.
  • Before joining Control Risks, Sebastian gained professional experience in NGOs and risk analysis. He worked as an assistant to the Deputy Chief of Party for a project in Colombia focused on security and social cohesion, led by an International NGO. Sebastian contributed as an analyst to an open-source geopolitical intelligence digital publication, analysing the impact of current events in Latin America. Sebastian was also previously an intern with the Global Risk Analysis Andean team at Control Risks, before joining as a full-time analyst.

    Sebastian holds a bachelor’s degree with honours (magna cum laude) in International Relations with focuses on business studies and environmental studies from New York University. He also holds a specialization degree Los Andes University in Colombia, focused on state, public policies, and development. Sebastian speaks English and Spanish fluently.
