Samantha is a Senior Consultant at Control Risks in our Crisis and Security practice based in Singapore. She has over 15 years of experience across public and private sectors, in areas such as organisation resilience (business continuity, security & crisis management), regional project coordination/management, security programme reviews and development. Samantha is responsible for supporting clients across the Southeast Asia markets, and more widely across the Asia Pacific region.

Recent tasks Samantha has worked on include:

  • Planned and managed security and/or pandemic resiliency for various international events in Singapore, South Korea and Australia.
  • Security & risk assessments (including TVRAs) for various clients in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, South Korea, China, and Hong Kong.
  • Crisis exercise drills, business continuity trainings, and resiliency & pandemic planning across various sectors and industries in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and India.
  • Planned and delivered multi-million-dollar physical security infrastructure system projects.
  • Developed core security management system, frameworks, and processes for corporations (across SMEs and MNCs).
  • Analysed and managed security risks/threats for executive travel to higher risk areas such as the Middle East; coordinated responses to extricating personnel after incidents such as post-Arab Spring in Egypt, 2015-2016 Israeli-Palestinian conflicts, 2015-2016 terrorist attacks in Paris/London/Berlin.
  • Successfully managed security ground operations for large complex organisations and has led corporate security programmes (such as trainings, campaigns, assessments and audits) across diverse industries in Singapore and the APAC region.
  • Samantha is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese (spoken), as well as having a basic understanding of Japanese. She holds a Bachelors (with Honours) in Communication Studies, the CBCI by the Business Continuity Institute (UK), and certifications in Crisis Management and Strategic Foresight by the Geneva Centre of Security Policy. She is in the process of obtaining the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by ASIS International.
