David is based in Kenya and leads our Business Intelligence, Political and Country Risk practice in Eastern Africa. An economist by training, David brings a wealth of experience from across the region in government affairs, public policy, and compliance to help clients enter new markets and grow their businesses in a secure and resilient manner.
Recent tasks that David has worked on include:
Prior to joining Control Risks, David spent 16 years working with governments, the private sector, global social impact organisations, and public policy think-tanks. His work during this time included strategic advisory, policy and regulatory risk analysis and stakeholder engagement.
David holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Egerton University, Kenya; a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands; a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Statistics from Makerere University, Uganda; and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Economics and Finance at SOAS, University of London. He is fluent in English and Kiswahili.
