We asked compliance leaders how their roles are evolving in a polycrisis world. Here's what they said.
It's no longer just about obligations.
Our 2025 Corporate Compliance Survey indicates a seismic shift in the role of corporate compliance – an evolution from fire-fighter to core business partner. Value-driven compliance helps companies maintain a competitive edge. It signals to customers, markets and business partners that this is a robust organisation they can trust.
Yet 45% of organisations still don't vet third-party suppliers before engaging with them, and 25% only carry out due diligence once an issue is already flagged.
Compliance teams have a proactive role to play here. The most successful companies don’t need the threat of financial penalties to do the right thing; they do it because it makes business sense.
