Caroline Naumann is an Associate Director for Crisis and Security Consulting and is also the COVID-19 EMEA Advisory Lead. She enables clients to prepare for and respond to events at home in Germany and throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. With a specialized background in public health and crisis management, Caroline has supported organizations to prepare for and respond to diverse crises including pandemics, severe business disruptions, and civil unrest.

Before joining Control Risks, Caroline led PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Crisis Management practice in Europe, and has extensive experience in the Middle East and Africa. As a frontline operator, she managed large scale humanitarian health responses in active-conflict countries. She also served as a diplomat in the U.S. Department of State, including as the Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of State. Her experience runs the gamut “from muddy boots to business suits” and enjoys bringing proven crisis management and security strategies to clients.
Caroline earned her Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University and a Masters in Public Health from Harvard University. She was recognized by Atlantik-Brücke as a 2019 Transatlantic Young Leader. Caroline is fluent in Spanish and speaks intermediate German.
