She writes regular updates and outlook scenarios for the company's online subscription services, featuring key developments and their implications for clients operating in these markets. She also provides customised reports for companies across a range of sectors.

Before joining Control Risks, Bota helped build negotiation workshops focused on geopolitical crisis scenarios at Negotiation Design & Strategy in Boston. Prior to that, she worked on human rights and civil society projects for non-profits in Central Asia, as well as contributed to two published reports while interning at Peace Research Institute in Frankfurt, Germany.
Bota has a master's degree in Russian and Eastern European studies from Harvard University focused on comparative politics and economics of the region. She speaks English, Russian, and Kazakh.
