Kathryn is an Associate Director within our Compliance, Forensics and Intelligence team in Dubai. She has 12 years’ professional experience in the public and private sectors and has worked on a wide range of compliance due diligence, business intelligence and investigative projects for Control Risks. During the past three years she has worked with local and international clients to understand and manage risk exposure to modern slavery in their supply chains. She has spoken on several panels regarding modern slavery, including in Qatar and the US.

Kathryn is an Associate Director within our Compliance, Forensics and Intelligence team in Dubai. She has 12 years’ professional experience in the public and private sectors and has worked on a wide range of compliance due diligence, business intelligence and investigative projects for Control Risks. During the past three years she has worked with local and international clients to understand and manage risk exposure to modern slavery in their supply chains. She has spoken on several panels regarding modern slavery, including in Qatar and the US.


Examples of Kathryn’s recent experience include: 
  • Managing the delivery of a multi-million dollar project in the UAE that included a range of consultancy pieces advising on strategic aspects of the worker welfare programme and a team of consultants embedded into the client organisation.
  • Working on a four-year labour monitoring project during the construction of a major entertainment venue in the UAE, including developing training materials, compliance controls and reporting structures to assist the client to meet internal labour welfare standards.
  • Developing a labour welfare management system for a multinational construction company, which included drafting internal policies, a welfare guidebook and internal operations manual, investigation protocols, an issue log, and monitoring and reporting templates to cover all aspects of labour welfare management.

Prior to joining Control Risks, Kathryn spent three years working for the UK government with a focus on legal research and Middle East investigations. Kathryn has a bachelor’s degree in German and European studies from Queen Mary, University of London, UK, and a master’s degree in international security and global governance from Birkbeck College, University of London.
