Lisa Troe is a Senior Advisor to Control Risks’ Regulatory, Risk and Investigations (“RR&I”) practice in the Americas region, drawing on her experience as a former SEC Regional Chief Enforcement Accountant to provide input and guidance to our practitioners and consultants.
Lisa has worked with boards, audit committees and special committees of public and private companies, and their legal counsel in numerous independent and internal financial investigations, including in response to whistleblower complaints, SEC Enforcement inquiries and investigations, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) investigations and actions, securities litigation, possible accounting and financial reporting misstatements, revenue recognition issues, alleged financial and other disclosure fraud, insider trading, earnings manipulation, internal controls, CFO misconduct, and auditor independence and malpractice issues. Lisa has been engaged as a testifying expert in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), and Regulation S-K public company forward-looking statements.
In addition to her prior role with the SEC, Lisa was an auditor at a Big Four public accounting firm and held corporate accounting and financial positions. She is an experienced public company Director and Audit Committee Chair, a CPA, a credentialled NACD Board Leadership Fellow, and holds a CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity issued by Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University. Lisa has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal as a top global forensic accountant for six consecutive years and was awarded the SEC Chairman’s Award of Excellence. Lisa graduated with honors from the University of Colorado and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
