Lisa Troe is a Senior Advisor with Control Risks’ Regulatory, Risk and Investigations practice in the Americas region. She has an extensive background in public company governance and oversight; accounting, financial reporting and disclosure; processes and controls; enterprise risk management; and financial investigations and securities litigation.

Lisa Troe is a Senior Advisor with Control Risks’ Regulatory, Risk and Investigations practice in the Americas region. She has an extensive background in public company governance and oversight; accounting, financial reporting and disclosure; processes and controls; enterprise risk management; and financial investigations and securities litigation.

Lisa works with boards of directors, audit and special committees, executives and their legal counsel in complex, crisis driven, mission critical situations to address strategic issues that affect the enterprise, C-suite executives, shareholders and other stakeholders. Lisa advises on SEC compliance including accounting, financial reporting and other disclosure, internal controls and processes, and corporate governance, and provides forensic and litigation consulting in connection with securities litigation as well as SEC inquiries, investigations and actions. 

Lisa has worked with legal counsel in their representation of boards of directors, audit and special committees, and public and private companies in numerous independent and internal financial investigations, including in response to whistleblower complaints, SEC Enforcement inquiries and investigations, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) investigations and actions, securities litigation, possible accounting and financial reporting misstatements, revenue recognition issues, alleged financial and other disclosure fraud, insider trading, earnings manipulation, internal controls, CFO misconduct, and auditor independence and malpractice issues. Lisa has been engaged as a testifying expert in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), and Regulation S-K public company forward-looking statements.   

Lisa was a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, the Regional Chief Enforcement Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Pacific Regional Office, an auditor at a Big Four public accounting firm, and held corporate accounting and financial positions. She is an experienced public company Director and Audit Committee Chair, a CPA, a credentialled NACD Board Leadership Fellow, and holds a CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity issued by Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University. Lisa has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal as a top global forensic accountant for six consecutive years and was awarded the SEC Chairman’s Award of Excellence. Lisa graduated with honors from the University of Colorado and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
