I joined Control Risks in 2012, leaving behind a job and team that had become my Dubai family over seven years. While the leap from finance to consulting took some convincing, meeting the team and understanding Control Risks’ work revealed shared values, making the change worthwhile. No day is the same; I can go from juggling press requests and interviews to presenting at our regional executive committee and crafting integrated marketing campaigns - and everything in between. Leading by example is how I aim to make a difference, ensuring our brand and people's reputations shine when representing Control Risks.
Before Control Risks, I worked in foreign exchange at ABSA in South Africa for a year, funding a one-way plane ticket to London. I worked as a junior analyst in Goldman Sachs’ swap operations team. Later, I managed transactions for the Global Equity Derivatives department at Deutsche Bank AG. After packing my London life into one large box (literally), I said goodbye to grey skies and landed in sunny Dubai as a marketing and brand manager for Lloyds TSB Bank before joining Control Risks.
A standout memory: enjoying a movie with my HRMS colleagues in Erbil, Iraq. My Control Risks journey has been a blend of fun, influence, challenge and growth.
Beyond work, I cherish time with my almost three-year-old son, embark on desert horse rides, reconnect with friends, and revel in the adrenaline of Tough Mudder adventure races.
