Marnix is a senior consultant in Control Risks’ Business Intelligence practice, based in Abu Dhabi. His role involves managing complex strategic intelligence, reputational and integrity due diligence, and investigative assignments across the Middle East and North Africa. Marnix regularly advises clients ranging from multinational corporates to investor clients and law firms on acquisitions and growth opportunities, market entry matters, and governance, ethics and compliance issues across the region.

Before relocating to the MENA Business Intelligence practice in Abu Dhabi, Marnix worked for Control Risks’ Europe Business Intelligence team in London. He was responsible for leading reputational and integrity due diligence and investigations assignments across western Europe, with a particular focus on the Benelux.
Prior to joining Control Risks, Marnix worked for a UK-headquartered intelligence and risk management firm, where he worked on projects spanning due diligence, political and security risk, and policy development. Marnix has also worked within the Drugs and Organised Crime Directorate of DG HOME at the European Commission and at the Terrorism Prevention Branch at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Whilst there he participated in the development of research and policy initiatives relating to financial and organised crime. Marnix has a BA in International Relations and German from the University of Exeter and obtained a master’s degree in Intelligence and International Security from King’s College London. Marnix speaks Dutch, German, and English.
