Gabriel Brasil is the lead analyst for Argentina and Uruguay and one of the analysts for Brazil for Global Risk Analysis, Control Risks’ market-leading political, operational and security risk analysis and forecasting team. Gabriel contributes to Control Risks’ online monitoring services (CORE) and has conducted bespoke analysis for multinational clients across the Southern Cone.

Gabriel Brasil is the lead analyst for Argentina and Uruguay and one of the analysts for Brazil for Global Risk Analysis, Control Risks’ market-leading political, operational and security risk analysis and forecasting team. Gabriel contributes to Control Risks’ online monitoring services (CORE) and has conducted bespoke analysis for multinational clients across the Southern Cone.


His recent projects include: 

  • Completing a comprehensive assessment of political, operational and security threats for a pension fund interested in acquiring assets in multiple sectors in a number of countries across South America, including Brazil and Argentina. 
  • Conducting continuous monitoring of political, regulatory, security and social threats concerning a multinational with operations in the mining sector in Brazil.
  • Preparing a comprehensive assessment of threats associated with key political, macroeconomic, geopolitical, trade and regulatory trends in Brazil for a company in the energy sector. 


Gabriel holds a BA in economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and a MSc in international political economy from the University of São Paulo. Prior to joining Control Risks, he worked on finance, management and government relations consulting projects across multiple sectors. In addition to his native Portuguese, Gabriel is also fluent in English and Spanish and has some basic knowledge of French.
