Edmundo is an Associate Director in Control Risks’ Global Risk Analysis practice, based in Mexico City. He specializes in providing bespoke consultancy services for clients in the region. As part of his role, he provides political, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), operational, social, and security risk analysis in Mexico.

Before joining Control Risks, Edmundo worked as Program Manager for Public Security and the Rule of Law at a Mexico-based international risk consultancy firm. He has previously served as a diplomat and international officer in global agencies, including the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago, and the Supreme Audit Institution of Mexico. As an academic, he has also conducted thorough research in democratic stability and global governance.
Edmundo holds graduate degrees in international law, US criminal and immigration law, and social innovation; advanced degrees in peacemaking and peacekeeping operations, international humanitarian law, and diplomacy; and a bachelor’s degree in international relations and law.
Along with his native Spanish, he is fluent in English and German.
