David is a Senior Advisor at Control Risks, providing strategic guidance to the boards and executive leadership teams of major companies as they navigate critical situations.
In his work, David draws on decades at the forefront of national security and law enforcement, including senior positions at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He guides boards and executive teams through high-stakes situations, focusing on security risk management and investigative strategy.
Before joining Control Risks, David held senior leadership roles in the FBI, culminating as Assistant Director in Charge, overseeing operations in Washington DC and Northern Virginia. He directed the FBI’s investigative and analytical efforts in some of the agency’s most sensitive cases worldwide. This included the roles of Chief of the Tactical Section and Commander of the Hostage Rescue Team.
David also led an evolution in the FBI’s National Tactical Program, enhancing coordination nationwide across the FBI’s crisis response units and delivering cost-effective solutions that improved operational effectiveness. He was instrumental in leading technological upskilling initiatives across the FBI. Before joining the FBI, David served as a detective in the New Hampshire Police Department and in the United States Air Force.
David holds an executive MBA from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business and was a contributing author to Leadership in Dangerous Situations, a handbook for the Armed Forces, Emergency Services, and First Responders (2022).
