Ben is a Director and senior account executive based in Control Risks’ London Office. He is responsible for leading our UK-based client engagement and business development in the Energy and Extractives space. In this capacity he manages Control Risks’ highest-yielding global accounts in the Oil & Gas and Mining sectors.
Ben’s role is to act as an interface between Control Risks’ key clients and our subject matter experts and multidisciplinary teams across the globe. Ben applies in-depth knowledge of the extractive industries to tailor bespoke solutions to the security, integrity and political risk concerns of Control Risks’ clients in this space. Ben has travelled extensively, including to South Korea, Iraq, the Emirates, Nigeria, Libya, the US, Colombia and Mexico to help further the strategic partnerships Control Risks enjoys with the small group of key clients Ben manages.
Ben has spent 20 years in the risk consulting sector in the Americas, South Asia and EMEA and leverages this experience to help our clients capture commercial opportunity while managing strategic and operational risks worldwide.
Prior to joining Control Risks Ben spent seven years in the military as a Commissioned Officer with the Intelligence Corps where he undertook a variety of roles, including three years as the chief of intelligence for UK Special Forces in Afghanistan. During his time with the military Ben also served in Iraq and conducted short-term postings in various parts of South Asia and the Americas. Ben was educated at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and the Defence Intelligence and Security Centre. Prior to joining the Army, he completed an undergraduate Degree in History at Balliol College, Oxford.
