Dr. Anne Hamnett is a Senior IT Forensic Consultant within Control Risks’ Compliance, Forensic, and Intelligence practice in Frankfurt. With her expertise in data analytics, digital forensics, and eDiscovery, she has been supporting and undertaking diverse projects, including forensic investigations into accounting fraud, insolvency and crisis management projects.

Anne also applies her skills in targeted data collections, internal application development, and the use of innovative data analytics methods and technologies.

Recent tasks that Anne has worked on include:

  • Engaged on several forensic investigation projects to analyse the clients’ databases, both SAP and SQL/Oracle databases. Anne’s data analytics expertise has proven very valuable also on a major insolvency and crisis management project, where various accounting and further ERP systems had to be interlinked and analysed. 
  • Supported the eDiscovery team with data collection and processing of laptop data for a global investigation of potential annual financial statements misrepresentation of a multinational business conglomerate.
  •  Set up and administrated contract analytics solutions for insurance policy reviews and large-scale contract reviews, and deployed the machine learning functionalities to optimize and fully customize the review workflow. With this expertise, she supported the contracts workstream on a major sell-side carve-out project for a global pharma client.
  • Before joining Control Risks, Anne has been working in the Forensic Technology Solutions department of a “Big 4” accounting firm in Frankfurt for 2.5 years, specialising in digital forensics and data analytics for forensic technology services.  

    Anne holds a Ph.D. in Physics with focus on experimental particle and accelerator physics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron, Hamburg, Germany. Within an international research collaboration Anne used Monte Carlo simulations and big data analytics to design a new particle accelerator in Japan. She is a German native speaker, fluent in English, and training in French.
