Siddharth Jain supports our business intelligence practice for South Asia, based in Delhi.

He has more than seven years of experience in conducting due diligence and complex investigations pertaining to fraud, conflict of interest, anti-bribery and corruption, asset-tracing and revenue leakage in South Asia on behalf of domestic and international clients across sectors including oil and gas, automobile, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, private equity, information technology, media and financial services.

Recent tasks Siddharth has worked on include:

  • A conflict-of-interest investigation for a multinational conglomerate in India. The client suspected that one of its employees had a parallel business interest in India. Our investigation identified the company associated with the employee and the extent of their engagement in this company.
  • A pre-investment due diligence on behalf of an Infrastructure-focused private equity, on a large conglomerate in India, with interests spanning infrastructure, oil and gas, and textile. As the lead investigator, Siddharth conducted a detailed integrity risks assessment on the conglomerate’s key companies and key principals, the focus of which was to obtain specific details of the company’s engagement with third-party vendors and their overall commercial and ethical track record./li>
  • An anti-bribery and corruption investigation into a client’s subsidiary in India. Our enquiries identified major irregularities involving the senior management personnel of the subsidiary. The issues identified had global ramifications for the client, particularly owing to potential FCPA and UKBA violations. Our findings enabled the client to address these issues and review how to proceed vis-à-vis the relevant authorities.
  • A multinational oil and gas company (petitioner) represented by Counsel had filed a lawsuit in relation to non-payment of dues against another public-sector oil and gas company based in South Asia (defendant). The petitioner wanted to recover its dues by identifying the assets held by the defendant and presenting it in court. We found that the defendant had ongoing oil and gas related infrastructure projects with various multinational firms and owned numerous assets in its home country.
  • Several whistle-blower investigations, for clients across sectors, relating to issues such as employee misconduct, conflict of interest, insider-threat and vendor collusion.

Before Control Risks, Siddharth worked as a risk consultant for a multinational professional services firm in India.

Siddharth holds a master’s degree in management from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor's degree in computer science. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
