As Director of Global Client Services, Rainer manages Control Risks’ sales activities in Southern Germany. These activities relate to Control Risks’ full range of services, including integrity and compliance consulting, crisis management, political risk consulting, travel security, cyber intelligence and security consulting.

As Director of Global Client Services, Rainer manages Control Risks’ sales activities in Southern Germany. These activities relate to Control Risks’ full range of services, including integrity and compliance consulting, crisis management, political risk consulting, travel security, cyber intelligence and security consulting.

Rainer works with a wide range of clients in the automotive, IT, engineering, construction and other sectors to identify and mitigate risks to their investments, operations and personnel in complex business environments.


Rainer’s experience as project manager includes:
  • Crisis-driven investigation and remediation programmes concerning corruption, fraud, anti-trust, export controls or conflict minerals following complaints of various law enforcement agencies or internal investigations
  • Embedding of international compliance programmes including tone at the top, delegation of authority and change management. Design and implementation of compliance organisations, processes and corresponding IT systems
  • Implementation of large-scale IT-solutions to automate compliance processes such as business partner screenings or monitoring and reporting. Risk analysis of cyber threats including the definition of countermeasures.


Before assuming his current role, Rainer gained experience as a partner of an interim and project management partnership. Prior to that, he worked for IT-consulting companies and a multinational consulting firm where he was responsible for numerous complex international projects. He has been published in books, magazines and newspapers and was responsible for the publication, production and content quality assurance and official presentation of the study Crime in the Public Sector 2010 in collaboration with the University of Halle-Widecke. Rainer was leader and trainer of the seminar Development of a compliance organization with resulting certification as Compliance-Officer in cooperation with Management Circle AG. He studied economic sciences at the University of Hohenheim and in Irvine (US) and law at the Saarland University. His native language is German. He is fluent in English and has a basic command of French.
