Rainer Heck is a Director based in Frankfurt. He leads the crisis and resilience consulting practice in Central and Eastern Europe as well as the automotive practice group in Europe and Africa. Rainer specialises in working with organisations on critical risk and resilience matters, including enterprise risk management, crisis management and the design and implementation of appropriate organisations.

He focusses on helping clients to manage risks and realise opportunities in a globalised world, especially in the automotive sector, retail and service providers on a variety of mitigating structures for strategic, operational and compliance risks.


Rainer’s recent projects include:
  • Designing and implementing an enterprise risk management programme for a global retail company
  • Serving as a strategic advisor to the crisis management team for an international automotive supplier
  • Implementing a global compliance organisation as a follow-up to a major crisis for a manufacturer and supplier
  • Project manager and advisor to the security organisation of a global automotive company to conduct confident investigations in various countries

Before joining Control Risks, Rainer gained experience as the finance director of an IT service provider, and as a partner at taskforce AG, an interim and project management partnership. Prior to that, he worked for PwC in risk consulting where he was responsible for numerous complex international projects.

Rainer studied economic sciences at the University of Hohenheim (Germany) and law at the Saarland University (Germany). He is the author of various articles on governance and compliance, including the first study in Germany on Crime in the Public Sector in collaboration with the University of Halle-Widecke (Germany). For many years, Rainer has led the seminar Development of a compliance organization in cooperation with Management Circle AG.
