Rainer is a Partner and Managing Director for CEE (Central and Eastern Europe), with responsibility for Advisory and Risk Consulting across EMEA. Based in Frankfurt, he advises clients on how to protect growth and profitability in the face of geopolitical volatility and operational disruption.
He designs robust resilience systems that enable earlier risk identification, faster decision-making, and proportionate, cost-effective response - strengthening organisations’ ability to anticipate disruption, adapt with confidence, and emerge stronger.
Rainer works closely with senior executives during high-pressure situations, helping them navigate crises, make critical decisions with confidence, and maintain control when it matters most.
Recent engagements include:
- Supporting a global retailer through an escalating crisis with major reputational, customer, and financial implications, where rapid decisions and disciplined execution were critical to maintaining control and protecting the business
- Designing a business continuity and crisis management approach for an international conglomerate, including contingency planning for relocation to a secure location outside the country
- Reshaping a client’s security and intelligence function following severe activist attacks combined with insider activity, including a threat-led concept to protect the board, people, and assets
- Establishing enterprise resilience spanning corporate and information security, enterprise risk, business continuity, and crisis management to safeguard a client’s strategic growth ambitions
Rainer’s career has been shaped by fast-moving global environments where geopolitics, regulation, and operational complexity materially influence business decisions. He brings the security, resilience, and clarity organisations need to stay on course, even when the external environment is working against them.
He is co-author, together with Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, of “Crime in the public sector – tracking down corruption and related offenses”, one of the most cited studies on public-sector integrity.
Rainer holds a Diploma in Economic Sciences from the University of Hohenheim and a Master of Laws from Saarland University.
