Philip is a Director with more than 25 years’ experience in crisis and security management, specialising in managing complex threat-related risk and security projects. He has significant experience in operational and tactical security and travel security management, most recently in Ukraine. Philip has led cross-cultural teams on projects across Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.  

Recent tasks that Philip has worked on include:

  • Managed major security and safety portfolios for companies in the oil & gas, banking, telecommunications and high-tech industries, responsible for the safety for entities of up to 20,000 employees.
  • Conducted risk and threat assessments for mining executives and their families in high-risk countries and conducting training for executives and their families on how to manage their risk profile.  
  • Planned and executed complex investigations into fraudulent behaviour, counterfeiting of luxury goods and threats to life. 
  • Developed a resilience network for a global retail chain manufacturing food product in multiple markets. 
  • Before joining Control Risks, Philip managed major security consultancy businesses in Malaysia and the Philippines for more than eight years. 

    Philip holds a Master’s in Security and Risk Management from Edith Cowan University (WA) and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. He also holds several certifications in auditing processes and organisations. He served in the British Royal Marine Commandos and saw active service in Northern Ireland and spent considerable time in arctic warfare environments. He now prefers warmer weather.
