Neha is a Director in Control Risks’ Business Intelligence team for South Asia. Neha specialises in complex cross-border investigations, asset tracing and dispute support, and anti-corruption investigations and pre-transaction due diligence. She has particular expertise in regulatory and operational risks in South Asian markets. 

Recent tasks that Neha has worked on include:

  • Overt investigations and interviews for a multilateral bank in Bangladesh and Nepal, looking into conflicts of interest, collusion, and anti-competitive behaviour 
  • Multi-jurisdictional due diligence and investigation into an acquisition target for a listed pharmaceutical company across the US, UK, and India, finding patterns of fraud and kickbacks and conflicts of interest 
  • Advisory for an institutional investor on corruption and ESG risks related to multiple road and highway assets across India, focused on sources of finance, political connections, authenticity of bids, and operational risks 
  • Asset traces in India and South Asia for Indian and international banks, lenders, and litigation financiers, identifying benami properties, investments, cars, vessels and warehouses 
  • Before joining Control Risks, Neha worked for some of the world’s top global investigation firms, most recently leading India operations of an international investigation firm. Previously, at the Brookings Institution she worked on US-India foreign policy and investment issues. At the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, she focused on illicit trade and regional connectivity in South Asia. 

    Neha holds an MA in international affairs and economics from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, where she concentrated in South Asian Studies.
