Marina Pera is Control Risks’ Associate Analyst for the Southern Cone, with a focus on Argentina and Uruguay. She produces regular updates for Control Risks’ online services and writes consultancy reports on political, operational, reputational and security risks.

Examples of Marina’s recent projects include:

  • A security threat assessment for a global oil and gas company interested in operating in Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
  • A security threat assessment for a real estate company carrying out a project for a high-net worth (HNW) individual, in the context of the personnel’s visits to the site of interest in Argentina.
  • A threat assessment for a non-government organization in Brazil to map the main threats around the 2022 Brazilian presidential elections, including a detailed analysis of the influence of the armed forces, political actors and social media platforms.
  • An assessment of the social unrest outlook in Brazil related to the 2022 presidential elections for a global tech firm.
  • A pre-market entry assessment in Uruguay for a global company in the data center sector.
  • Before joining Control Risks, Marina was an intern on the political analysis team at a financial firm as well as with the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Marina graduated from PUC São Paulo with a bachelor’s degree in international relations and currently holds a master’s degree in global governance from PUC São Paulo. She is a native Portuguese speaker and speaks fluent English and Spanish.
