Aryaman Bhatnagar is an Associate Director in the Global Risk Analysis practice of Control Risks. Based in the Delhi office, he works on political, economic, security and regulatory developments in the South Asia region, particularly India and Bangladesh, contributing towards bespoke consulting projects.

Recent tasks that Aryaman has worked on include:

  • A political and regulatory risk assessment for a global energy company in Bangladesh.  
  • Strategic advisory for a global energy company seeking to enter the renewable energy sector in India. 
  • A federal and state-level corruption risk assessment for an automotive company with operations in India. 
  • Assessment of the security and operational risks for a global retailer sourcing garments from Bangladesh.  
  • Crisis management support for multinational companies in India and Bangladesh. 
  • Strategic advisory support for a consultancy investing in Sri Lanka.  
  • Before joining Control Risks, Aryaman worked as a foreign policy, security and political analyst for more than a decade with think tanks in New Delhi and Berlin. He was the German Chancellor Fellow, an award granted by the German Chancellery, German Foreign Office and Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung, for 2018-2019 and in that capacity spent 18 months in Berlin researching on Germany’s policy towards India and Afghanistan. His writings have appeared in World Politics Review, The Diplomat, Global Policy Journal, The Indian Express and Hindustan Times, among other national and international publications and was also a regular contributor to some of the leading global risk consultancies.  

    He holds a Masters degree in International Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and an undergraduate degree in History from the University of Delhi.
