Situation
An international flag carrier wanted periodic assessments of overflight risks between Asia and Europe. The client was concerned that flight routes into Europe from Asia were threatened by surface-to-air weaponry prevalent in many of the conflict zones between these two regions.

Control Risks developed a bespoke monitoring and analysis solution that provides regular overflight risks updates to our client. The reports contain in-depth analysis of hostile actors, flight restrictions and ground conflict in key countries and regions. Overflight risks are determined from a clear set of metrics, which the client uses to inform route planning.
Client outcome
The reporting allowed our client to better understand the risks to its aircraft, passengers and crew along identified routes to allow changes to be made during the flight programming and planning process.
