Seréna is a senior analyst in a global analytical team focused on global, international and supranational issues. She provides analysis of international business risks, including geopolitics, terrorism, direct action, energy, climate change, commodity markets and supply chains. She speaks at industry events on global risks and participates in sector-specific forums and roundtable discussions. She also contributes to online subscription services and bespoke client consulting projects.

Recent engagements include:

  • Producing a quarterly report for an international insurance company, focusing on global political violence, terrorism and unrest trends that would impact assets and exposure.
  • Leading a global emerging risk assessment for an international logistics company, to assess drivers and directionality of labour, energy transition and data sovereignty strategies.
  • Delivering a monthly global assessment for an international tech firm, focusing on geopolitical, regulatory, political, activist and supply chain issues that would impact the tech sector.

Before joining Control Risks, Seréna was an analyst at a security intelligence firm, where she focused on monitoring and analysing international health, global travel and terrorism risks. She holds a BA in Politics and International Relations from University College Dublin (UCD) and an MA in Intelligence and International Security from King’s College London, with a focus on OSINT analysis, East Asian security, and geopolitical developments in technology.
