Roberto Wong is a Director for Control Risks’ Operational Risk Management practice, based in the São Paulo office. His main duties include assessing risk and security threats, security auditing, complex problem solving, initial crisis response, and executive protection task planning and management. He is also a certified defensive driving instructor and is responsible for delivering training to both executives and professional drivers.

Prior to joining Control Risks, Roberto worked as a senior business manager for a major private security company in Brazil for six years. During this time Roberto acquired in-depth experience with integrated security projects for industrial sites, residential structures and commercial complexes, using specialised security personnel and electronic equipment. He also provided clients with the advice, information and practical tools they required to support and protect their businesses in a safe, secure and confident manner.
Roberto served in the Brazilian Army as a commissioned officer in the Artillery Corps. For six years he served in the Supervision of Controlled Products Service (Serviço de Fiscalização de Produtos Controlados – SFPC/2), a division of the Brazilian Army that controls the use, trade, storage and manufacture of weapons, ammunition and offensive chemical products. He also provided advice to military and public security authorities on legal subjects related to the supervision of controlled products held by the Brazilian Army.
Roberto holds a bachelor’s degree in law and business administration from Universidade Mackenzie in São Paulo, Brazil. In addition, Roberto has completed specialist training courses in firearms from the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) and US Customs departments.
Roberto is a Brazilian national and speaks Portuguese, English and intermediate Spanish.
