Edward is a Principal in our Advisory and Risk Consulting practice, who works with clients to implement organizational resilience programs, including business continuity, crisis management and physical security structures. He specializes in advising multinational companies with high-risk exposure from financial services to the extractive industries, with experience across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.
Edward designs best-in-class risk management structures tailored to each organization, either for proactive risk prevention or in response to shifts in risk profile or specific threats. His work addresses a broad spectrum of risks, including social unrest, common and organized crime, armed conflict, natural disaster and reputational challenges.
Recent engagements include:
- Assessing operational and non-financial risk for a large financial institution, including the regulatory requirements for business continuity management and disaster recovery.
- Designing, developing and implementing an incident response and crisis management program for a renewable energy company with global operations and an ambitious expansion plan.
- Performing a strategic review of the security strategy and structures of a mining company in Colombia with a client evaluating an acquisition of the target company.
Edward developed leadership, strategy and planning skills as a British Army officer in Bosnia, before going on to manage security challenges in Iraq and Afghanistan. He later served as Managing Director of Security at a risk advisory firm across Latin America and led crisis management and non-financial risk management for a major bank in the region. His approach to crisis response was further informed by supporting the organization in ensuring business continuity and duty of care during major hurricanes in Florida. Edward holds an MA in international peace studies from the UN-mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica. He speaks English and Spanish.
