Dan is a Principal and leads client relationships for Singapore. He supports regional headquarters and domestic multinationals in managing complex regulatory, commercial and operating environments across Southeast Asia.
Having been based in Singapore for 13 years, Dan delivers strategic intelligence that connects macro trends with hyper-local insights to inform deals, partnerships and expansion. He also leads complex investigations, often involving threats and disputes, which require a multidisciplinary approach. His work is informed by a strong understanding of the unique challenges in the region and the need for nuanced, culturally sensitive analysis.
Recent engagements include:
- Advising data centre hyper-scalers on market entry and expansion across Asia Pacific, including regulatory risk assessment, partner due diligence, security design and resilience strategy.
- Supporting a global medtech company in defining its long-term China strategy amid evolving political, technological, industry and economic conditions.
- Assisting a global chemicals business in its crisis response following a dawn raid in a key Southeast Asian market.
Before joining Control Risks, Dan worked at the Asia Pacific advisory service for The Economist Group, leading its commercial strategy and driving the thought leadership agenda of influential C-level executives in the region. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at a Singapore headquartered compliance technology business and with a global leader in publishing, business intelligence and data.
Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in Politics & Developments Studies from the University of Sussex.
