Alison is an Associate Director in Control Risks’ Workplace Violence Prevention and Threat Management practice.
Based in New York, she manages threat-based investigations for the North America region and specializes in threat assessment and management, workplace violence prevention program reviews and their development and workplace violence prevention trainings. She also has experience conducting open-source intelligence collection and analysis, a variety of online investigations and advising clients on a wide range of security and privacy issues.
Alison’s recent experience includes:
- Developing a workplace violence prevention program from threat identification through to assessment and management at a national healthcare organization
- Conducting threat assessments for global pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, non-profit organizations, technology companies, law firms and entertainment companies with a focus on internal and external threat actors and providing threat mitigation strategies
- Helping to develop a threat management team and process at a global financial organization
Prior to Control Risks, Alison was a senior associate at a security consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. area, where she served as a project manager, assisted in formulating company processes and products and researched and composed a suite of security-, privacy- and cyber-related reports for clients in various industries.
Alison is a licensed private investigator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in government from Georgetown University and a Master of Science in global politics from The London School of Economics and Political Science. Alison has certifications in threat, vulnerability and risk assessment and online cyber investigations. She is a mentor at Girl Security and a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) and ASIS International.
