Catherine leads insider risk management services, working with colleagues across our service lines to provide clients with a multidisciplinary approach to corporate espionage and other insider threats. She draws on more than 25 years of security and risk management experience across the public and private sectors, including 11 years in US federal service conducting global national security operations.
Clients turn to Catherine to mitigate intellectual property theft by employees and their third parties, prevent threat actors from gaining employment, protect critical assets and operations during mass layoffs, and building their insider risk management programs. Her experience spans various sectors including financial services, technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical, energy, automotive and apparel retail.
Recent engagements include:
- Assessing a client's recruiting and hiring practices following several cases of employment identity fraud, including an employee who stole a customer's sensitive data and threatened public disclosure, alongside multiple nation-state remote worker fraud incidents
- Assessing a C-suite executive's business and lifestyle risks from various threat actors and providing actionable recommendations to protect the executive, the organization's brand and its critical assets
- Identifying insider risk vulnerabilities within an apparel company's design center, developing a plan to better protect its products and brand
She holds a Master of International Affairs from American University's School of International Service and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Relations from Florida State University. Catherine also holds an Insider Vulnerability Assessor Certification from Carnegie Mellon University's CERT Program.
