Michael is the Senior Analyst for EMEA in the Special Risks Analysis (SRA) team, which tracks kidnapping-for-ransom and other extortive crime trends globally as part of Control Risks’ Confidential Crisis Response practice. Michael’s responsibilities include providing live support to response consultants deployed on active kidnapping-for-ransom, extortion and other acute crises, with a particular focus on the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. Michael regularly provides clients with bespoke analysis on kidnap-for-ransom and extortion trends across EMEA.

Prior to joining Control Risks, Michael worked as an intelligence analyst for a crisis response consultancy, delivering analysis on kidnap and extortion threats across EMEA. Michael holds an MSc in International Politics from Trinity College Dublin and a BA (Hons) in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick.
