Laura Lizarazo is a Senior Analyst for the Andean region in Control Risks’ Global Risk Analysis practice, based in Bogotá. She provides strategic advisory and consultancy services on political, regulatory, economic, social and security risks in Colombia, Ecuador and French Guiana for clients in the energy, mining, infrastructure and automotive industries, among others.

Laura has experience in government affairs and business consulting. Before joining Control Risks, she was an advisor to the Americas division of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she was in charge of bilateral affairs and agendas with Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. Laura also served as a risk analyst for the Andean region at a French risk consultancy based in Bogotá.
Laura holds a master’s degree in risks and development in the Global South from the Institute of Political Studies of Bordeaux (Sciences Po Bordeaux), with an emphasis on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. She also holds a bachelor’s degree (first class) in political science from the National University of Colombia and another (first class) in international relations from Rosario University. Laura is fluent in English, French and Spanish, and speaks intermediate Portuguese.
