Kate is Associate Director of Operations for Control Risks ONE, the Global Risk and Operations Centre. She acts as the deputy lead for the EMEA region, overseeing our team of specialists on watch 24/7.

Kate specialises in managing complex investigations, security management, digital risks and critical incident response. She has extensive experience handling multidisciplinary cases through the Hiscox Security Incident Response (SIR) programme. For 30 years, Control Risks has partnered exclusively with Hiscox, offering expert advice and assistance to clients worldwide dealing with extortive crime.

Recent tasks that Kate has worked on include:

  • Leading the response to targeted protests affecting a financial sector client, including site security reviews and online threat monitoring by Control Risks’ expert teams.
  • Managing a major investigation into suspected contract and procurement fraud for a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FCMG) client operating in Europe.
  • Providing crisis management support and coordinating the deployment of security consultants to the South-West Pacific during politically motivated civil unrest and riots.

Before joining Control Risks ONE, Kate worked in Control Risks' Crisis Security Consulting practice, based in London. In this role, she led the Business Operations team, oversaw the EMEA and APAC Kidnap Incident Management Workshop programme, and delivered crisis management and business continuity exercises for multinational clients.

Kate is CBCI certified and has a professional qualification in Governance, Risk and Compliance from the Open Compliance and Ethics Group (OECG). She is also a PRINCE2 Project Management Foundation practitioner.
