Rebecca Scorzato is a Partner based in Washington DC. She leads the Crisis and Resilience consulting practice in North America, and specializes in consulting designed to help clients build, exercise and conduct training on crisis management, business continuity, crisis communications and other impact reduction programs.

Rebecca conducts both pre-incident preparations as well as working with her clients on strategic crisis response. Rebecca also has significant experience developing enterprise risk management programs.


Rebecca’s recent experience includes:

  • Serving as a strategic advisory to the C-suite in a large scale data breach for an engineering design firm including crisis communications support with key partners.
  • Serving as a strategic advisor to the crisis management team for a global hospitality organization as they managed through the response to a large-scale foreign investigation and public relations crisis.
  • Establishing an enterprise risk management program for a global biotechnology firm including board of directors engagement.
  • Conducting an array of crisis management exercises for major pharmaceutical brand manufacturers at the headquarters, regional and site levels.

Before joining Control Risks, Rebecca served as Associate Director of Global Security for Biogen. In this role, Rebecca was responsible for building and implementing the biotechnology company’s business continuity and crisis management programs.

Rebecca also played the primary role in standing up the Enterprise Risk Management program where she led the team to implement the program governance based on COSO standards and conduct an enterprise risk assessment in two consecutive years. She played a key role on the crisis management team in response to over 50 incidents annually alone including the attacks in Belgium, Orlando, Paris and Copenhagen.
