Patrick is a Senior Consultant in Control Risks’ business intelligence practice for the Russia and CIS region. He works closely with Control Risks’ clients and their external counsel to ensure compliance with sanctions imposed against Russia. Patrick has also developed customised research methodologies to determine his clients’ exposure to unpredictable political dynamics in Russia’s neighbours, notably Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan.

Prior to joining Control Risks, Patrick spent ten years living in Russia and working in journalism, broadcast media, and political analysis.
Patrick holds a BA in History from Leeds, an MA in International Relations from the Moscow Higher School of Economics, and an MA in Politics and Security Studies from University College London.
Along with his native English, Patrick speaks fluent Russian.
