Oliver Kay is an Associate Director for Control Risks' Crisis and Security Consulting team.
Based in Los Angeles, Oliver is responsible for the development, management and delivery of security-related projects.
Recent tasks that Oliver has worked on include:
- Leading the planning and delivery of high-profile global events across multiple continents, ensuring seamless coordination and risk mitigation.
- Providing tailored intelligence support to personnel operating in complex and high-risk environments worldwide.
- Acting as the lead close protection operator for C-suite executives, high-net-worth individuals and A-list public figures, ensuring their safety.
Before joining Control Risks, Oliver led global security and intelligence operations for an international media organization. He previously built the intelligence function at a nonprofit, later becoming regional security manager for North America and Asia Pacific. He began his career at Control Risks as operations manager.
He is a Major in the US Army Reserve and has served as a Civil Affairs and Intelligence Officer. Before that, he was an Infantry Officer in the British Army.
Oliver is studying for a Master's in Intelligence Studies at American Military University and holds a Bachelor's in Middle East and North African Studies with Arabic from the University of California, Los Angeles. He also has completed the Ronin Close Protection Course in South Africa.
