Michael is a Principal in Control Risks’ Geostrategic Advisory practice, where he supports C‑suite leaders at global corporations in strengthening decision-making and long‑term resilience in an increasingly complex geopolitical environment. His work focuses on helping organisations move beyond episodic risk analysis to embed geopolitical considerations into strategy, investment decisions and leadership priorities.

Drawing on a deep understanding of how geopolitical dynamics intersect with business interests, Michael helps executive teams interpret political, regulatory and macroeconomic developments in clear, commercially grounded terms. He supports clients in identifying emerging risks and opportunities early, enabling more confident, forward‑looking decision‑making in volatile markets.

Prior to joining Control Risks, Michael founded and led two practices at a Washington, DC based geopolitical risk advisory firm, where he advised senior leaders at Fortune 500 companies on global political and economic risk. Earlier, he managed executive‑level client relationships at Deloitte and Booz Allen Hamilton, delivering strategic advisory support to multinational organisations facing complex international challenges.

Michael began his career in the US government, serving in roles at the White House, the Department of Justice, and within the US Intelligence Community. He brings extensive international experience, having worked across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia. He holds degrees from Princeton University and Georgetown University.
