Josephine is an Associate Director in Control Risks’ Africa and Europe business intelligence teams and leads our business intelligence practice in Paris. With a focus on delivering strategic insights, she advises corporates, private market investors, and law firms in France.  

Josephine specialises in managing complex reputational due diligence investigations and overseeing strategic business intelligence assignments across francophone Africa and Europe. 

Recent tasks that Joseph has worked on include:

  • Due diligence investigation into a Turkish construction group and its subsidiaries across Africa 
  • Due diligence investigation into a Belgium solar energy company and activities in West Africa 
  • Due diligence investigation into a Gabonese bank and its subsidiaries in West and Central Africa 
  • Business intelligence investigation in Côte d’Ivoire and Togo into a large infrastructure project in Abidjan, specifically looking at the probity of the contract award and the reputation of the project’s sponsor.  
  • Integrity and ESG due diligence in the mining sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo 
  • Multi-jurisdictional due diligence investigation into a pharmaceutical group in France, Belgium, Cote d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali, Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville, Guinea, Gabon and the DRC 
  • Prior to joining Control Risks, Josephine worked as a consultant for a Guernsey-based business intelligence firm and as an intelligence analyst for a political risk company in Tel Aviv, Israel.  

    Josephine graduated from Kings College London with an MA in Intelligence and International Security. She also holds a dual Master of French law and Common law, with a specialisation in corporate law from Nanterre University Paris X.  

    She speaks French and Spanish.
