Jackie Day is a Senior Partner and leads Control Risks’ Crisis & Security Consulting business for North America. Based in Washington, DC, Jackie has 17 years’ experience in helping organizations successfully prepare for, respond to and recover from enterprise-threatening issues. She is a member of the global senior leadership team of Control Risks and sits on the Control Risks executive committee for the Americas region.

Jackie Day is a Senior Partner and leads Control Risks’ Crisis & Security Consulting business for North America. Based in Washington, DC, Jackie has 17 years’ experience in helping organizations successfully prepare for, respond to and recover from enterprise-threatening issues. She is a member of the global senior leadership team of Control Risks and sits on the Control Risks executive committee for the Americas region.

Jackie has held a number of management positions, including leading Control Risks’ Crisis & Security business for South America when based in Brazil. Jackie has advised a broad range of organizations on risk issues ranging from Board-level risk governance and crisis management to more operational security matters.


Recent examples include:
  • Led a global, multidisciplinary team on a complex investigative matter for a Fortune 50 company, working in partnership with external counsel. Areas of support included forensic imaging and analysis; business intelligence and analysis; information security and crisis management advice.
  • Led a global, multidisciplinary team to advise a privately-held engineering firm on a crisis-led complex FCPA investigation in close partnership with external counsel. Broad areas of support included intelligence-gathering and analysis; data collection and IT forensics; investigative, compliance, and forensic accounting consulting; and operational security, crisis management, communications and business continuity consulting to mitigate long-term reputational impact, as well as market exit planning.
  • Served as strategic risk and crisis management lead for a Board-directed initiative to conduct a holistic cyber security risk and maturity assessment for a Fortune 500 company.
  • Served as project director for the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil, leading a multinational team of 70+ personnel in delivering comprehensive risk planning, intelligence and operational security support for several clients, including a Tier 1 FIFA Partner.
  • Delivering business resilience planning and training which integrate crisis management, business continuity and information security programs to enhance enterprise preparedness, and which drive capacity-building from the headquarters through the country or project/site level.
  • Regular security risk planning and crisis management consulting projects across North and South America. Jackie is a trained Control Risks Response “handholder.”


Prior to joining Control Risks, Jackie worked at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) where she provided advanced concept development services to the United States Department of Defense. Jackie holds an MA in Law & Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. She has working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese. Jackie has been a commentator on international security and risk management issues in a variety of media and professional forums, and is certified by OCEG as a Governance, Risk and Compliance Professional (GRCP).
