Fergal Ludlow is an experienced security consultant and Director of Security Design and Engineering for the UK and Europe. Based in London, he has over 12 years’ experience in the security industry. Fergal specialises in security risk management, strategy development, operational advisory, and the design and implementation of physical and technical security solutions for a diverse client base across multiple regions.
He has led complex projects across sectors including Critical National Infrastructure, defence, mixed-use developments and prime residential.
Fergal is passionate about delivering best-in-class security projects that combine risk-based design principles with resilient, operationally efficient and technology-driven solutions.
Recent projects that Fergal has worked on:
- Leading a comprehensive physical security upgrade across the EMEA portfolio for the largest co-location data centre provider, covering 15 countries and 50+ sites
- Heading up a team to deliver physical security for all venues at a major international event in the UK, including operational requirements, x-ray detection systems, video surveillance and counter-terrorism measures
- Developing a Security Operations Centre (SOC) for a mass media organisation monitoring the APAC region, based in Singapore, managing spatial and ergonomic design using CAD and integrating IT, AV, HVAC, and security systems
- Driving the early-stage security strategy and design for the UK’s largest Giga Factory including Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment, Security Strategy and Concept Design
- Leading security consulting design and engineering projects for several mixed-use commercial project across London
Fergal started his career as a fire and security engineer on the South Coast of England, then progressing to a design role with a global security integrator. For the majority of Fergal’s career, he has worked for internationally renowned security and engineering consultancies providing security risk, design and engineering advisory services for an international client base.
Fergal is a Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP), having completed a Level 6 Diploma from the International Security Management Institute. Fergal is also a member of ASIS International ensuring and completes a set amount of relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD) each year.
