Charles Simpson is a Director for Control Risks’ Technology consultancy based in London. Charles focuses on internal investigations, white-collar crime, regulatory reviews, cross-border litigation and PII related matters. Charles specialises in consulting and managing projects on matters involving electronic discovery, document review and is an e-disclosure expert.

Highlights of Charles’ experience include:

  • Consulted on review strategy and case management for an extensive multimillion pound fraud and conspiracy claim which featured as one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2020.
  • Consulted on a complex investigation resulting in numerous eDiscovery workstreams related to our client’s operations across various businesses in Saudi Arabia.
  • Assisting our client managing a document review and disclosure of non-standard filetypes in two intellectual property matters within the United States.
  •  Lead the document review phase of a client’s internal investigation into the theft of proprietary business models across various jurisdictions.
  • Manages the UK team of Project Managers to deliver on UK and multi-jurisdictional eDiscovery matters leveraging various technology and analytical tools.

  • Before joining Control Risks, Charles worked as a paralegal at numerous law firms where his experience included supporting lawyers specifically in Telecommunication regulatory matters as well as complex FCPA/Anti-Bribery investigations.

    Charles is a certified Relativity Certified Administrator, RelativityOne Certified Pro, RelativityOne Review Pro, Relativity Certified Sales Pro, Relativity Review Management Specialist, Reveal Review Certified, Brainspace Analyst Certified and Reveal Processing Certified. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the College of Charleston, Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Masters of Science degree in Public Policy from the University College London.
