Caitlin Egen is Commercial Director of our Digital Risks practice. She provides strategic support to our threat intelligence, advisory, assurance, and incident response teams worldwide. She advises C-suite clients and boards on critical digital and technology risk challenges through threat-led advice, global coordination and actionable business risk expertise.

Recent tasks that Caitlin has worked on include:

  • Provided regulatory compliance advice to a private equity client on a strategic acquisition in China.
  • Supported a cryptocurrency firm in designing open-source intelligence capabilities for an executive protection programme.
  • Advised on risk assessment and due diligence for a data centre carve-out and acquisition across Europe.

Before joining Control Risks, Caitlin spent seven years in the startup space. During this time, she joined a cybersecurity startup as the first consultant, playing a pivotal role in client acquisition, project management, and service delivery, while wearing multiple hats to support the company’s early growth.

Caitlin holds a BA in economics and history from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and an MA in Countering Organised Crime and Terrorism from University College London.

She spent several years living and working in China, including in Beijing, Shanghai, and Taiwan. Caitlin is a dual US–UK citizen.
