Aurélien is a Director in the Crisis and Security Consulting practice, based in Paris. He advises a broad range of clients on crisis management, corporate security, and resilience strategies, drawing on over 20 years of operational and strategic experience in international security and crisis management.

Recent projects that Aurélien has led include:

  • Designing and implementing a global security and resilience framework for a multinational corporation to support its international business operations.
  • Developing and leading multinational, cross-functional security and crisis teams in response to critical incidents, including terrorism, natural disasters, pandemics, armed conflicts, cyber-attacks, and kidnappings.
  • Measuring and assessing risks, vulnerabilities and performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making for executive leadership.
  • Crafting an integrated resilience approach to enhance organisational preparedness and responsiveness in complex, high-risk environments.
  • Reporting to C-suite and governance bodies on risk and resilience posture, providing expert insights on emerging security challenges.

Aurélien began his career in the French Armed Forces, with five years of active service and five others as a reservist. Prior to joining Control Risks, he worked as Corporate Security Director for two multinationals, overseeing global physical security operations, crisis management, health and safety and information management initiatives.

Aurélien holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and an Executive Master’s degree in Public Affairs. Since 2021, he has taught international security and crisis management at Sciences Po and has published several articles on security related topics.

Alongside his native French, Aurélien is fluent in English, and has intermediate proficiency in Spanish.
