Arran is a part of the maritime intelligence and security practice, within our geopolitical and strategic risk advisory team. He advises clients on threats to commercial shipping and offshore operations, including war, piracy and armed robbery at sea, terrorism, activism, and drug smuggling. Arran contributes analysis to Control Risks’ subscription services and delivers bespoke consultancy projects, collaborating with the firm’s country experts worldwide.
Prior to joining Control Risks, Arran interned at a maritime intelligence firm while completing his Master’s in Intelligence and International Security at King’s College London. Arran is an accredited Company Security Officer (CSO) and Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO). He is regularly cited in maritime industry publications and has appeared on Control Risks’ Global Insight podcast. Arran also holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Leeds.
