Alex is Global Head of our Online Threat Intelligence (OTI) team, responsible for the practice's global operational and commercial management. Alex specialises in identifying, monitoring and assessing online threat actors who pose a potential physical security risk to organisations, their executives, people and operations. Working with clients worldwide, Alex helps them build threat intelligence programmes and integrate protective intelligence across the wider business, moving beyond immediate incident response towards scaled, global capabilities that safeguard people, assets and operations.

Recent engagements include:

  • Building and leading a global team of 45 analysts to deliver a 24/7/365 person-of-interest assessment, threat monitoring and investigations function for a leading global technology firm, designing programme-wide methodologies for threat detection, investigation and assessment.
  • Designing and implementing a person-of-interest programme and protective intelligence function for the executive team of a major US healthcare company.
  • Leading a comprehensive threat monitoring programme for a major US non-profit, developing an all-source collection plan to protect its staff, offices and events.

Clients value Alex's genuinely global approach, honed across the Americas, EMEA and APAC, and the ability to understand the distinct threat environment of each region. Having built and led Control Risks' 24/7 global online threat intelligence team, Alex brings deep operational experience and helps organisations build protective intelligence programmes that endure well beyond the immediate crisis.

Prior to Control Risks, Alex worked at a global consultancy specialising in online investigations and open-source intelligence. He holds a BA in International Relations and an MA in Global Politics from the University of Sheffield.
