Stuart is a Principal based in Melbourne, Australia and leads a diverse team within our Discovery + Data Insights practice across Asia Pacific. He has a special focus on advising customers around the use of technology to support large and complex investigations, litigation and data breach review.

Stu specialises in managing client engagements around the use of technology in the Legal Data Intelligence Space. He provides consulting and strategic advice around eDiscovery, regulatory response, post-incident response and investigations.

Recent tasks that Stuart has worked on include:

  • Provided strategic consulting and enablement to a top tier law firm to support a large eDiscovery software transformation project.
  • Led an eDiscovery and data analytics team to support a global corporate managed service on a “bet the farm” litigation involving over 25 million records and supporting a document review for over 100 lawyers across several global law firms and jurisdictions.
  • Led the global teaming “follow the sun” function for Asia Pacific, enabling regional teams to support customers seamlessly with a unified playbook, for the largest and most demanding engagements.
  • Led a large investigation into potential compliance issues for a large debt collection organisation that was in the midst of an acquisition.
  • Led a data breach investigation, subsequent review and notification exercise where external threat actors had exfiltrated corporate data and exposed both employees and customers data on the dark web.
  • Before joining Control Risks, Stu spent over 25 years working in top tier Australian law firms, global consulting firms, eDiscovery service providers and founded eDiscovery software provider Relativity’s’ business in Asia Pacific.

    Stu is current President for the Association for Certified eDiscovery Specialists ANZ chapter.
