Kent Goldingay is Control Risks’ Head of Business Intelligence for Australia Pacific, based in Sydney, Australia. He works closely with private market investors and multinational corporations on strategic intelligence and due diligence engagements. Kent has over a decade of consulting experience and has worked on hundreds of business intelligence, due diligence and complex problem-solving investigations for companies looking to invest in Australia and abroad. Kent was seconded to Control Risks’ South Asia business for part of 2023 where he was based in New Delhi and Mumbai, and managed projects covering companies in India, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Recent Project that Kent has worked on include:

  • Investigative due diligence on a renewable energy developer in Australia, an assessment of its local stakeholder management and its track record and reputation from past developments.
  • Market entry assessment and due diligence investigation on a company that owned major infrastructure assets throughout multiple jurisdictions in the Pacific.
  • On-the-ground assessment in the Solomon Islands and Samoa to conduct enquiries for a client’s local operations. The enquiries involved document reviews, transaction testing and stakeholder interviews.
  • Intelligence-driven engagement to support a company facing a hostile takeover bid and assist in the formulation of its defence.
  • Investigative due diligence engagement on a significant infrastructure asset in India that was at the centre of a corruption scandal involving the state’s ruling political party.

    Before joining Control Risks, Kent worked at a listed fund manager where he advised clients managing listed equities portfolios.

    Kent studied at the University of Sydney where he obtained a Master of International Relations with a specialisation in International Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce, (Finance and Politics) from Macquarie University in Sydney.
