She oversees the provision of guarding, close protection, journey management, and crisis management services for a range of clients, and delivers consultancy work in the crisis and security space in the region. Sydney is based in Dakar, Senegal.
Before joining Control Risks, Sydney’s previous role was as Business Resilience Manager for Heathrow airport, where she managed their crisis management structure and training and exercise agenda, including the planning of large-scale live exercises on site. She previously worked for Control Risks as an embedded consultant within a large US-based hospitality client, focused on crisis management, crisis management technology, and security policy and procedures. In addition, Sydney held several roles with Control Risks’ and International SOS, working on travel security analysis and operations, often with a focus on West and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Sydney is a Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP) and holds a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and degrees from Northeastern University (B.A. International Affairs, Middle East Studies) and University College London (MSc in Risk, Disaster and Resilience). Sydney works in French and English.
