Rupert is a Principal based in Singapore, leading complex consulting engagements, advisory support and training across Asia-Pacific. His areas of expertise include anti-bribery and corruption advice, investigations, policy and political analysis, threat and risk assessments, crisis response and training.


Examples of Rupert’s recent experience include:
  • Advised clients in multiple sectors concerned about how best to manage their businesses in compliance with ethical and regulatory provisions in markets across Asia. This included corruption, ethics and/or fraud risk assessments; gap analysis and benchmarking; implementation support; and scenario-based ethics, crisis and compliance workshops.
  • Ran numerous market entry projects across Asia-Pacific, helping identify opportunities, before assessing political, regulatory and security threats and risks. This included mapping key risks throughout the supply chain and project lifecycle, and devising mitigation and management strategies to ensure the venture was secure, compliant and resilient. 
  • Conducted investigations and responded to crises involving possible or actual regulatory, security or criminal breaches. This included terrorist incidents, whistleblower allegations, frauds, corruption, physical threats and human rights violations.


Rupert is a regular commentator and speaker on crisis, political and compliance issues focused on Asia. Rupert was previously the director of country risk analysis for Asia-Pacific, associate director in the South-east Asia investigations team, and prior to that, practice leader for the Western Europe investigations team, based in London. Before joining Control Risks, Rupert worked in Aon’s Crisis Consulting team, specialising in counter-terrorism and political risk crisis response and risk mitigation. 

Rupert holds a bachelor’s honours degree in Business Administration from the University of Bath, a Postgraduate Certificate in Forensic Emotion Awareness and Investigative Interviewing, and is pursuing postgraduate studies focusing on behavioural analysis and deception detection.
