Richard is the operational lead consultant for Protective Services within the Middle East. He provides executive protection to high-net worth individuals and company representatives alike, wishing to visit the region. Richard is based in Dubai-UAE.


Richard’s recent projects include:

  • Protective Services task Beirut.

  • Protective Services task KSA.

  • Protective Services task Pakistan.

  • Prior to joining Control Risks, Richard worked as a global security manager in the oil and gas industry. In this role, which spanned two hemispheres and six countries, Richard delivered viable plans using gap analysis between clients’ security plans and state and federal regulations. During his time in the US, he worked with state and federal agencies to deliver a security plan to a sitting US senator and governor.

    Richard also served as a Royal Marines Commando and Commissioned Officer. He completed 12 operational tours in hostile environments such as Iraq, Yemen and Afghanistan and served as a Team Officer within the Joint Counter Terrorism Unit during the Yemeni civil uprising and has worked on anti-piracy operations off the coast of Somalia.

    Richard holds a Master of Science in Security and Risk Management and Bachelor of Arts in Education and Training and was educated in maritime studies and leadership at the Britannia Royal Naval College-Dartmouth. He also holds a BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection Operations and US Federal Emergency Management. Richard holds various teaching and occupational health and safety certificates. He is a member of the British Security Industry Association and graduate member of the Occupational Health and Safety.
