Nick Gorzkowski is Director for Control Risks’ Global Client Services and covers the Pacific Northwest Region. Based in Seattle, Nick is committed to finding innovative solutions for his clients using Control Risks' broad portfolio of risk management services with particular focus on crisis management programs, due diligence investigations and new market entry.

Combining his academic work in international affairs with extensive professional experience in client relations, Nick understands his clients’ needs and helps them navigate the rapidly changing environments in which they operate.


Some highlights include:
  • Building a global crisis management program and training regime for a Fortune 50 tech company
  • Managing a two-month long corruption investigation in China for a prominent alternative energy company
  • Creating a multi-country threat assessment matrix for a global electronic-component manufacturer looking to open its first operations in Africa
  • Developing a response to a customer data breach for major retailer that included a review of cybersecurity protocols, human intelligence gathering, and interacting with government bodies


Prior to joining Control Risks, Nick completed a master’s degree in International Relations from The London School of Economics (LSE). Nick also spent seven years doing account management for the television conglomerates, CBS and Comcast, specializing in distributing client content to new media platforms including internet, mobile and social networks.

In addition to his master’s degree, Nick holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), an ISMA Leadership Program certification from Georgetown University, and a certificate from the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). He is proficient in French and conversational in Polish.
