Mark Lee is an Associate Director in Control Risks’ Crisis and Resilience consulting practice, based in New York. He focuses on supporting clients with vital resilience and risk management procedures, including business continuity, crisis management and security.
Mark regularly performs comprehensive gap assessments and audits to determine operational deficiencies throughout all areas of client organisations. These analyses have led to the development of tailored programs and training exercises to enhance risk mitigation methods and improve the total cost of risk.
Recent tasks that Mark has worked on include:
- Business Continuity program development for a manufacturing company. Performed a comprehensive risk and business impact analysis to identify supply chain gaps, which led to the development of robust recovery procedures that allowed the organisation to meet their identified recovery time objectives and future contract requirements.
- Crisis Management consulting for a global financial institution. Created a fit-for-purpose crisis management program by leveraging institutional knowledge of regulatory requirements throughout the organisation’s major operating regions. Managed the implementation while fulfilling internal legal and compliance protocols.
- Business Continuity plan and procedure validation for a pharmaceutical company. Facilitated several tabletop exercises for a cross-functional group of internal business leaders. The workshop aimed to test and validate the critical response procedures throughout the plans, while exercising the key stakeholders' responsibilities and communication strategies.
Mark has over 11 years of experience assessing risks in numerous industries including manufacturing, agriculture, financial institutions, real estate, hospitality, and construction. Prior to joining Control Risks, Mark served as a Vice President / Risk Services Manager at a global insurance brokerage. In this role, he developed and implemented solutions in the areas of risk mitigation, employee safety, emergency and crisis management, physical security, regulatory compliance and business resiliency.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health & Safety from Indiana University School of Public Health. He is also a Master Business Continuity Professional (ABCP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
